Project 2011 -- Week 28

It's time for the weekly Project 2011 update. Can you believe that we are more than halfway through the year and I'm still keeping up with my goals? No? Well, I can't believe it either! ;-) Of course, there's still time to join in. Head over to Cate's at Moments of Whimsey for details. Just click on the Project 2011 button to the left!

Check out the Royal Goals by clicking the tab up above.

Princess is back in her riding groove! I am happy to announce that she is trotting and the fear has passed. Sewing seems to have gone by the wayside, at least for now.

The Lizard King has been busy, as usual, and is still searching for pistons.

I continue reading about photography (it's constant) and taking photos (yeah, that's constant, too). I still love my weekly workout and actually look forward to it. I think the fact that it's only once a week that really keeps me going! I am definitely building muscle and I'm getting stronger. So cool . . .

In the sewing world, I completed Princess' dress!!! She insisted on wearing it the moment it was done. I'm pretty pleased with it and I'm ecstatic that she loves it so much.

Now head on over to Moments of Whimsey to check out the other bloggers around the world and how they're rocking their goals.

  1. Congrats on all your goals! The dress is awesome and I can see why Princess wanted to wear it right away. I love the way you have the strap looped through the back...very clever. :D

  2. Thanks, Sheri! I am pretty pleased with the outcome, although I can't take credit for the cleverness of it. It was all from the online pattern. Now I'm going to move on to napkins, then I will attempt turning the ladies skirt into a t-shirt dress. Eek!

  3. That dress is fantastic! I especially love the ties in the back. She'll be able to wear that one for a long time!

  4. Thanks, Aliceson! My goal (with the two things that I have sewn so far) has been to make things that will last her a while. Now that I'm done this one, I'm excited to start the next...but nervous!

  6. Thanks, Crystal! It was a pretty easy pattern, even for a beginner like me. And it was free! I had to buy bias tape, clear elastic and thread. Everything else was free. Super bargain of a dress! Here's the link for the dress pattern: http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2010/08/solar-dress-free-pattern.html just in case you'd like to make one, too. :-)

  8. Thanks, Secret Mom...on both counts! Your daughter would look adorable in it, too! :)

  9. I love that fabric. If I made that for my daughter she wouldn't take it off for days :) Your daughter is lucky!

  10. Isn't it beautiful fabric, verdemama? It was a "hand-me-down" ladies' dress from (are you ready?) my sister's roommate's boyfriend's sister. After 4 washings, I was able to get rid of the overwhelming perfume smell. Princess thinks she's pretty lucky, too . . . but I think I'm the lucky one. :)
