Step 1 of the Kitchen Remodel

The Lizard King and I have decided to remodel the kitchen a bit. It's a great kitchen, but there are things we really want to change. Step 1 was to get rid of the microwave. We never use our microwave. Well, we use it, but only as a timer/clock and...

 and storage for extracts that are steeping and bulk tea.

We are so pleased with how it turned out!

On to the next step . . . eventually.

Organize Update #4

Time flies when you're having fun! Yes, it is time for the next installment of our organization project. Our bathroom has a double vanity, but I have only completed the organization effort in one of them. First we have the before. I just sort of threw stuff in there. It's been worse than this, but never better.

Until now! Oh how I love organization!!

 This is my tea cabinet. Sadly, I don't have a before pic. Just imagine a whole lot more stuff in there and stuff falling all over the place. This is so much nicer!

I know that Sheri has some organization projects over on her blog. She's been an organizing maniac! Go Sheri! Anyone else out there? Leave a link or comment below.

Organize Update #3

Yes, it's that time again . . . the first Monday of the month and time to share our latest organization project. Thanks again to Sheri at My Leftover Life for her fun word play for our word of the year!

Things have been crazy busy around here. Still, I found time to get a couple organization projects done last month. Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of the before for my tea cupboard and our corner cupboard. They do look lovely, but here's what I've got pics of this time around.

The dreaded junk drawer or should I say junk drawers.

 Here is junk drawer #2. Yep, I'm pretty pleased with this one.

 Here we have junk drawer #1. I'm not quite as thrilled with this one, but it's LK's drawer and while there is still a bunch of stuff in there, it is somewhat organized. ;)

 All in all, I'm pleased with this reorg project.

Organize Update #2

It's time for our second ORGANIZE update. Thanks again to Sheri at My Leftover Life for the creative edge she added to the word of the year. 

Oh my gosh! I'm so happy. Organization makes me happy. I was planning to do a small project, maybe a drawer. But the complete lack of organization in my pantries was making me crazy. I have two pantries, one small and one walk-in -- both unorganized and cluttered. 

 First, I emptied the small pantry. I actually hadn't planned on doing the walk-in, so I didn't empty it.

 There's all the stuff spread out on the island.

 There I am, working hard.

 These are my Dollar Tree (mostly) and Tuesday Morning finds. I actually ended up only using the Dollar Tree items. The Tuesday Morning stuff will have to wait for another day. I spent $27 at Dollar Tree and used 25 of the 27 items.

 Here is the after!

I am so pleased!!!

ORGANIZE Update #1

It's time for our first ORGANIZE update! Thanks again to Sheri at My Leftover Life for the creative edge she's added to the word of the year:

Remember, no project is too small or too big. 

I didn't take any before pics, but I found these. I'm not sure if you can see all the chaos on the shelves. Trust me, it was awful.

Half the shelves are crammed with toys, the other half are filled with books and DVDs. This built-in wall unit allowed me to move all the books and DVDs upstairs (pictured below) and I was able to reorganize the whole playroom . . . which is supposed to be a dining room, by the way. ;)

I love how organized it is and how easy it is to find things. 

 And here's a look at the rest of the room.

 I love the open space that we created in the middle. The chaos is gone!

ORGANIZE Reminder
