Conversations

I was trying on an old skirt a while back, hoping it would fit. When I realized that it was falling way too low on the hips, I sighed and said something about it being too big.

Princess: Well that's good, Mommy. That way it will fit you for a while.
Me: Uhm, no honey, I'm not growing.
Princess: You're not?
Me: Actually, I'm shrinking. (She hasn't noticed any weight loss at all.)
Princess, with a look of shock and confusion: You're shrinking?!
Me with hand motions: I'm not shrinking this way (motioning vertically), I'm shrinking this way (motioning horizontally).
Princess, with a look of relief: Oh! Well, that's good.

I just love these conversations!

LiG Fun!

The highlight for us of the LIFE is Good Unschooling Conference was the talent show. Princess was inspired to dance . . .
. . . and perform a comedic puppet show, featuring a tiger and a pig.
I think standup comedy may be in her future.

Black and Gold (Wardrobe Wednesday)

The Steelers are officially in the playoffs and the Lizard King is in his glory. Yes my friends, he is a Pittsburgh boy and he really does bleed black and gold.

Princess is quite the Steelers fan as well and she is learning about football from her daddy. Of course, neither of them can be very serious about anything for too long. What better place for a Steelers pom-pom than on top of LK's head?! I don't think it would keep him very warm at a football game, though. Just sayin'.

Head on over to our Wardrobe Wednesday sponsor, Aliceson at Feet Off the Table, to see what all the cool kids are wearing.

The Royal Helper

It seems that when stoves are installed, leveling is not included. I've been dealing with a slanted stove for months. Today, the Lizard King decided to fix it. Princess was still asleep, but the Royal Dog was on hand to help.

She is a very attentive supervisor. I don't know how LK could have done it without her!

Hanukka Ham

This was posted on Facebook and was too hysterical not to share.

Dear Walmart, I think you are barking up the wrong tree. Love, The Jews

Now we all know I'm an Atheist Jew. I enjoy ham as much as anyone. But it is definitely NOT my choice for a traditional Hanukka dinner. ;-p
