Cannon Beach is one of the first places LK and I went for an outing, back when we were just friends. Cannon Beach is where LK proposed to me, on the beach, by Haystack Rock. Cannon Beach is our favorite of all the Oregon beach towns. Cannon Beach is our special place.
We had been planning a day trip to Cannon Beach for weeks, no matter the weather. Friday, June 3rd was the day, and boy, did we luck out! We got another glimpse of Spring/Summer 2011. Even as we were driving, the forecast was only about 60º F (16º C), but sunny. Driving through the coastal range, the thermometer display on the car kept going up. By the time we got to the coast, it was an amazing 72º F (22º C) with sunny, clear skies.

Princess had so much fun, playing on the beach and in the ocean!
I even got a shot with me! Shocking, I know!!
The royal dog loves the beach, too! She even went into the ocean a bit, but I missed those shots. Darn it! Next time, because we will definitely be heading back . . . hopefully soon!
ahh what a beautiful day you got to have! I love it when the weather cooperates and gives us beauty when we have plans.
ReplyDeleteI <3 the picture of you and Princess. :) how special to get to go back to a place with such meaning for you and your husband.
It truly was a beautiful day, Crystal! The entire weekend looks very promising, too. Yippee!! : )
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm so glad you had a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, HerbiFaery! Today is so beautiful, I'm tempted to go back again. ;-) But I am certain that there are more beautiful days to come.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful and fun day!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun, Secret Mom! Truly...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day for you all, and what an unusually shaped rock!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's so awesome. What a way to spend a day with the family. The beach is gorgeous and Princess looks like she's having the time of her life trying to catch the waves. :D
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the coolest rock, Cate? It was on the beach, a little nearer to that rock that the Lizard King proposed. It is a very special place . . .
ReplyDeleteSheri, "time of her life" is exactly how to describe it. I was struggling to come up with the words to describe the immense joy I felt watching Princess. The last time she went into the ocean, she came out crying, because the salt water stung her damaged skin so badly. She is so much healthier now and she played and played with such delight. It was an incredibly joyful thing to experience.
