Tooth Fairy Time

Look who lost a tooth! Princess is not an excessive wiggler and it takes forever (or so it seems) for a loose tooth to come out. This one was so loose that when I tried wiggle it to check it (yes I'm very impatient) it literally fell out.

Losing teeth is a great way to make some money. The Tooth Fairy pays $5 at our house. Princess also gets $5 allowance. It makes counting by 5s very important. Math happens!

My friend over at Such Lovely Freckles pointed out the other day that skip counting is the same as multiplication really. I had never thought about it that way, but taking that into consideration Princess technically knows her 2, 5 and 10 times tables...and we didn't even realize it. Have I mentioned that math happens?

  1. Am soooo not telling my teens what the tooth fairy pays at your house. I'll be hearing all about their deprived childhoods for the next week....

  2. I think the Tooth Fairy is more generous in a single child household. That must be it!

  4. Haha Cate - I thought the same thing. Our toothfairy only paid my kids a dollar per tooth.

So, Shady, do you keep the teeth?

Though I don't have too many of Son's baby teeth, I have all of Daughter's.

  5. WCL, I was a wiggler as a kid. I had my two front teeth out for so long I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get them. I could feel Princess' tooth coming in as soon as the one fell out. She is so the opposite of me!

Sheri, I got $1/tooth so I guess it follows that Princess gets $5.

I have kept the teeth, but keep hiding them in different spots. At this point, I have 2 of the 4 for certain. I'm sure the others will turn up... Hopefully, not discovered by Princess though!
