I've come to the conclusion that we just can't grow a normal looking carrot. They do taste good, though!
We are harvesting like crazy and it just keeps on coming! We have a lot of zucchini. I'm going to attempt zucchini chips and will puree some to freeze. I used the puree in Princess' bread.
This is our crazy big cabbage. Can you tell how huge it is?
That's all for this week's Garden Club Monday. Head on over to our host, Aliceson at Feet Off the Table, to check out gardens around the country.
Do us all a favor and get those carrots some pants. :)
ReplyDeleteHAH!! I think I'd better get sewing, Aliceson. :-)
ReplyDeleteI believe that happens with carrots or other root veggies when they are planted closely and not thinned. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are sure blessed by your garden and wow what a head that is!
Awesome carrots. I haven't harvested anything but 3 tomatoes. I keep waiting.
ReplyDeleteThat could be, Crystal. I'm not very good at the thinning part. I guess I should work on that . . .
ReplyDeleteSecret Mom, you're going to have a sudden burst of ready to harvest veggies. Just you wait!
Aliceson - Bahahahaha, I laughed out loud. I was thinking the same thing.
ReplyDeleteLots of great stuff coming out of your garden Shady, very impressed by that cabbage.
Aliceson is a total crackup, isn't she?!
ReplyDeleteThat cabbage is crazy, Sheri! LK is planning to make stuffed cabbage (Paleo stye) with it. YUM!
Mmmmm stuffed cabbage. I'm drooling. :P
ReplyDeletethose carrots look positively joyful...like they're dancing :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to look at them, verdemama!! Ha...dancing carrots. Love it!
ReplyDeleteDang!!!!!! Nice haul!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to post on Monday. I thought it was saturday. lol. My carrots looked that way a couple years ago. One day I'll look for the old post and send you a link. PLUS, I have almost the same kitchen counter pattern, but mine is more mauve-ish.
ReplyDeleteHey Sheila . . . I thought Monday was Tuesday. I would love to see your funky carrots, and the kitchen counter. I'd like to figure out how to grow normal carrots. I will try thinning them next time. Maybe that will work.
ReplyDeleteWow - your garden is doing so well! Love the funky carrots :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cate! There are more carrots growing . . . and I really hope they come out normal. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour garden is doing so well! AMAZING! It has been way too hot and way too dry here and things are just not happy. We'll see in a few more weeks. I'm hoping at least the tomatoes and cucumbers will ripen and be great with all this heat! :)
ReplyDeleteWe are pretty darn pleased with the garden, Denise. Sorry your weather is so dry. :-/ My fingers are crossed for your cucumbers and tomatoes.
