On the first day of summer, we went strawberry picking for the first time ever. That's right, I've never been strawberry picking. Shocking. I know. We went with Freckles and her kids. It was an amazingly beautiful day and we all had a wonderful time!
Now I get to eat strawberries . . . yummy, organic strawberries that Princess and I picked.
Princess has yet to try strawberries and the Lizard King will eat some, but likely not many. I keep trying to tell Princess how good they are. Oh well . . . more for me!
That is the funniest picture. I look like I'm exercising. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL, Freckles!
ReplyDeleteFresh strawberries are the best. enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThey are, aren't they, Secret Mom?! :-)
ReplyDeleteO my goodness! How could she not try a strawberry. The smell alone is so intoxicating that you simply MUST eat them. My favorite is to make a cake, or brownies, both are nice, then I make a "frosting" of cream cheese and marshmallow cream mixed together (1 small jar of cream and 1 package of cream cheese) then top the strawberries over it and a dollop of whipped cream for good measure. :) devine!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds decadent, Crystal! Princess is very hesitant when it comes to trying foods. Strawberries are just one of the many things she has yet to try. One day... :-)
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm, wonderful. We're going strawberry picking this week. I can't wait. As for Princess, one day for sure...like you said, in the meantime, more for you. :D
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Sheri! I can't wait to go pick other kinds of berries. I've been blueberry picking, but there are so many other berries. It's going to be a berry-ful summer!
ReplyDeletemy boys won't eat strawberries (seedy). but I juice them to add to smoothies. and they love the smell too. :)
ReplyDeleteThat would be a great idea, Denise . . . but Princess won't drink smoothies either. I've always wished she would, because I could put a lot of healthy things into a smoothie. But no, Princess eats only a handful of foods. We do put zucchini into her bread. She thinks it's cool that she can eat a veggie without having to actually eat a veggie. ;)
