Project 2011 - Week 14

Thanks again to our Project 2011 sponsor, Cate at Moments of Whimsy. Head on over and check out the status of everyone's goals.

This week we're featuring Princess, realizing one of her goals. When I asked her about her goals at the beginning of the year, I think she may have felt pressured to choose when she responded with "learn to knit and learn to sew" or maybe she didn't really think about it. As the year went on, it dawned on me what her true goal was.

Princess owns 5 imaginary ponies. She can tell your their names and what they look like. She rides them around the house all the time. She has books about horses, reads stories about horses, has a coloring book of horses, she watches TV shows about horses. Are you noticing a pattern here?

I wish you could have seen the look on her face when I told her that we were going to meet a riding instructor and her horses. I think she almost cried she was so happy.

Tomorrow, she rides for the first time. The days can't go by quickly enough. I can't wait to post those photos!

  1. I knew it! Oh, how wonderful for Princess.

And for you too, to be able to provide this opportunity for her. It must bring you all such joy.

    :D

P.S. I rode horse for the first time just last year and I LOVED it.

  2. Sheri, Princess is so flippin' excited. She has told me at least 5 times today. Seeing her so excited does fill my heart with joy. :D

I rode a little bit when I was a teen and in my twenties. I always loved it. Glad to hear you did, too.

  5. And I can't wait to see the pics!!! She reminds me SO much of me when I was her age. I still have boxes of horse from my youth. Many wonderful memories, including Horse Camp with the Girl Scouts. *sigh*

  8. Thanks, ladies!! Princess is still asleep at the moment, but I know the first thing she talks about will be riding tonight. I hope I remember my camera this time. The photos above were taken with my phone. I think I'm almost as excited as Princess!!

  9. This is wonderful! Am so happy for Princess - especially as I was also a horse-obsessed kid, but unfortunately, did not ever get the opportunity to do anything about it...

  10. Cate, is it a girl thing? I was horse obsessed, too. And I was not fortunate enough to have lessons either. Now I can live vicariously through Princess! :)
