Monday Garden Club

We are really getting into the gardening swing here in the royal garden. Saturday was an amazingly beautiful day. It was sunny and warm, something we haven't seen/felt in a long time.

We spent the afternoon outside, moving dirt . . .

to create some more small beds . . .

and where there is dirt, there must be play. What better place than an empty garden bed!

The next day, the weather changed from a beautiful, sunny and 72ยบ  Saturday, to a chilly and rainy and less beautiful Sunday. Still we found some beauty at our local organic garden supply center. The coolest part is that this is located just down the street from us now!

We bought seeds, which Princess planted . . .

and starts.

For Princess' flower garden, she chose Fairy Meadow seeds, guaranteed to attract fairies!!!

We've still got more seeds/starts to buy and we're hoping for another beautiful gardening weekend in a few days. Now head on over to Aliceson's place at Feet Off the Table to see what's happening in gardens everywhere!

  6. I can't wait to see the fairy seeds grow as well. It would be fun if you found her a little fairy to put in her flowers when they got bigger.

  7. I think you all are as excited about the fairy garden as Princess is! =)

As for the rest of the garden, I think it's going to be pretty darn awesome. I must say that LK should get all the credit for it. It's his design and labor...with a little help from Princess. Now let's hope that we have a good gardening year!

@Bernie, we'll likely put a fairy house in the fairy garden so that when fairies come, they will have a place to stay!

  9. O my! I am hoping that we can start working on a garden here in our new home of Virginia but we have a lot of clearing to do in the area before we can plant. Hopefully it wont be to late to plant! I love planting a garden. It is so wonderful to see your food growing!

  10. Jennifer, I hope you post photos of your garden. You should join in on the Monday Gardening Club!

I hope you get to plant something, Crystal. I love growing my own food, walking out into the yard to pick lettuce for a salad. Mmmmm.... It's a wonderful thing!
