Project 2011 - Week 8

Yes, ladies and gentlemen! It is time for Project 2011. For details, click the badge to the left. If you need a reminder of what we're doing in our house, please check out the Royal Goals.

I don't think I've done much this week. Sure, I've taken photos (but relatively speaking, not that many) but I haven't worked on learning anything new. I have all the supplies I need for Princess' nightgown, but I haven't started sewing it or even cutting it. I'd better get moving if she's going to have an opportunity to wear it! I am doing my weekly workout and have added a daily walk (mostly on the treadmill) to my routine. I have the Tai Chi DVDs from the library, but have yet to try them.

I did add the goal of outside time to our Royal Goals, and we did enjoy a lovely day wandering the neighborhood last Saturday. I'm saving those photos (which I took with my iPhone) for Nature Connections on the 28th.

Huh . . . this is just about the lamest update I've had so far. I think I know why. You see, I screwed my blog up big time. I thought I was being so organized and efficient deleting photos from Picasa. Little did I know that when I load photos from Picasa online to my blog, they don't actually load . . . they link. So now I have several blog posts with missing photos. AND I'M REALLY AGGRAVATED!!! So now I'm trying to decide if I should just delete those posts. Grrrrr . . .  Any suggestions?

  1. I did that once but only deleted about a dozen before I figured out exactly what I was doing. I ended up loading them back on and putting the photos back in the posts. It was time consuming but for me it was worth it since many of the photos were of the garden and progress through the summer. Good luck, SL!

  2. Don't delete posts - either re-load the pics or leave them without.

I still think that you are doing amazingly with your goals - particularly as you have Princess with you all day. Am looking forward to the great nightdress creation :-)

  3. Thanks for all your support and commiserating! I was able to find some of the missing pics and some substitutes for ones that were missing, except for my Rock Poachers post. Fortunately, LK is planning to get more rocks this weekend. If I've missed anything else that anyone notices, please tell me!!

  6. Sometimes we just have to go with the ebb and flow of life.Sometimes we are doing so much that life is a blurr and the next time you think about it your in rest mode.
Can you put your photos on your computer and load them to blogger that way.Thats what i do and its fairly easy (well with this computer)

  7. LOL, Sheila!! I was wondering who Alan was. ;P I'm not deleting, just spending more time fixing than I'd like . . . and a little sad that some photos are gone forever.

Jessica, I tend to get more frustrated when it is I who makes the mistakes. I am always harder on myself. Now that I know it is linked to Picasa rather than downloaded, I will leave the photos out there. I like not having to keep everything on my PC. And one of these days I'm going to do a "blog to print" for a scrapbook. One day . . .

  9. So that's what happened? I noticed a post the other day without a photo...I commented but when I came back you had taken it down. And we all do stuff like that from time to time. :D

  11. I'm trying, Secret Mom. It's frustrating, but the fact that I was able to fix it helps. At least now I know not to delete from Picasa. I would save them to my computer, I should save them to my computer. Picasa makes it so easy to pull the photos though.

Yes, Sheri, that's what happened. When I got your comment, I pulled the post because that photo was completely gone. I did a "do-over" for Wardrobe Wednesday. The other post is saved, but I have to wait for Princess to don that shirt again.

Glad you like the background! I like to change it often and when I saw this one, loved it too!!

  12. I'm sure that is frustrating, but don't delete them. Just go add the pictures again.
Can't wait to see the nightgown. That will be fun.

  13. Thanks Bernie, it's all working out. Unfortunately, some of the photos were completely deleted . . . everywhere. I just needed to fix what I could and get over it. I can't wait to see the nightgown, too! ;P
