"Mommy, I want to use the big knife."
And so began the fine art of chopping. Princess chopped all the carrots and celery. She chose to pass on the onions. She was very impressed with her chopping skills and proud of her chicken soup. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Princess will have lots of chopping opportunities...if she so chooses.
Awesome! :o)
ReplyDeleteA piece of bread in the mouth when chopping onions almost wipes out the whole crying thing.
Wow, measuring and chopping. That's awesome. Good for her.
ReplyDeleteDaughter today used the sewing machine for the first time. When I told her it was similar to driving, her eyes lit up.
And that's when I gulped and thought to myself, "Oh man."
:D
Violet started helping out at a young age and always really enjoyed it. Now, she enjoys making dinners and baking a lot. (She's 11). I love nurturing their passions....especially when I get to enjoy the yummy results!!! : )
ReplyDeleteSheila, I've never heard of the bread trick! We'll have to give that a try.
ReplyDeleteSheri, "Oh man." is right!!! I don't even want to think about Princess driving. However, Princess has expressed an interest in learning how to sew. I think it's time for both of us to learn...I just have to figure out how.
Mandy, the thought of having someone else make dinner is very appealing. Who knows, perhaps it will lead to that one day. We'll see. Although, I really do love to cook. Especially since my new found love...my crock pot. ;)
