Snow!

We had one snow storm back in February. We almost missed it and Princess was so upset. We had gone to my parents in South Florida for a long weekend. It was a nice time away and gave us a break from the cold and rain, although this winter has been unusually dry.

When we found out that it had snowed, Princess was on the verge of tears. We haven’t had snow in a couple of years.

We landed in PDX on Saturday evening. It was getting cold and the roads were starting to freeze, but we made it home pretty easily…almost. We weren’t able to make it up the hill into our neighborhood. We parked on the main road outside our neighborhood and trekked up the hill, luggage in tow.

By morning, LK was able to get the car up the hill. He, Princess and the Royal Dog spent a good bit of time outside playing in the snow. It wasn’t quite as fluffy, with a pretty good layer of ice on top, but they managed to make a snowman and have a fun time before it started to melt.

The weather turned just after that and everything melted quickly. Princess is eager for another snowstorm, but she’ll have to wait for next year.

Blue Man Group

Cross one off LK's bucket list. He has wanted to see the Blue Man Group since before we got married. We finally had the opportunity and we loved it! It was especially fun for the drummer in the family.

Here is Princess with the drummer from the show.

So much fun!

Annual Baking - Happy Purim!

I hate to bake, but I love hamantaschen! These are a traditional treat for the holiday of Purim.

Purim is a lesser Jewish festival held in spring (on the 14th or 15th day of Adar) to commemorate the defeat of Haman's plot to massacre the Jews as recorded in the book of Esther.
Princess loves to bake and is always ready to help. We made these grain free, using almond flour and arrowroot for the dough. The filling is homemade poppyseed filling. So yum!
